Minnette Oliver started her career in image consulting and styling in 2006, and is the founder of The South African Image Company, an Image Consulting company that offers individual styling services as well as Image Consultant training courses.
Minnette studied Consumer Science at the University of the Free State during which period she formally received image consultant training in Sydney, Australia.
Image consulting and styling became her passion when she experienced first hand, that the way you decide to present yourself has a direct effect on the way you feel, and on how you are treated. She used her platform as an image consultant to teach women how to look their best.
Styling clients led to the start of What I’m Wearing, a facebook and instagram profile showcasing her daily outfits. After having her first born, she encountered the challenge of how to dress as a then stay-at-home mom. Her two daughters, alongside Minnette, represents a more laid back, relaxed style for the full-time mom. Since the girls were featured more often on the blog and social media, it was appropriate to adjust the name from What I’m Wearing to WE Wear What.
Her passion is fashion trends and forecasting, and how to interpret it into a practical, wearable, every day outfit. The purpose of the www.wewearwhat.co.za blog and social media accounts, are to guide ladies on how to put items of clothing together, to get maximum wear from their current wardrobe.
Minnette also facilitates individual style, colour and make-up consultations, does personal shopping or speaks at events on topics such as style, confidence, authenticity… She has recently collaborated with SweatGear (@sweatgearofficial), to design stylish active wear for women. The range may be viewed here.
The online shop hosts only products that Minnette herself would wear, use or has in her own home.
