It’s no secret… I’ve traded in my rider boots for trainers! Previous winters had become sooo long… Boots. Leggings. Jacket. Day after day. Adding trainers to my wardrobe this season gave so much more variety and kept getting dressed every day interesting!
My favourite trainers are Nike – only because the Roshe and Juvenate (black ones below) range is so good to my feet! I don’t have the best feet so I’ve always had to choose my shoes wisely! Both of these are lightweight and support a flat foot. The Nike Air and Thea are heavier and the soles are harder, so my feet become tired easily in them (and any other brand I’ve tried.)
I shop most of my Nikes online. From time to time I’ll google Nike Roshe or Nike Juvenate in South Africa and see what comes up. Shipping is usually free and I know my size in these so it usually doesn’t go wrong! It literally arrives the very next day! If you’re not happy, return it! Super easy and free of charge! You can also try international shipping, just remember that you’ll be charged import duties and wait a bit longer.
Here’s how I wear my black juvenates – 3 ways
You feel inspired?
3 tips to get it right:
- Don’t wear gym clothes just because you’re wearing gym shoes! (unless you’re going to the gym… aha moment?) All the outfits above are mixed with clothes that would otherwise be worn with boots, pumps, heels etc. The surprise element is adding your trainers to a more “dressy” kind-a-look.
- PLEEEASE don’t wear socks with your sneakers! Secret socks only! We don’t want to see any ankle socks sticking out.
- Show your ankles, whether you roll up your pants or wear ankle length pants. Go.
