Baby’s first birthday… what’s the big deal? Choose a theme and run with it. Elephant it was. Purchased napkins and marshmallows. What more do you need? Then I attended a close friend’s party and she DIY’d the whole story! It was so special. I could feel her mother’s touch. Rather than spending loads of cash, she thoughtfully crafted every detail at the party with love. She told me how she made her fondant cake and I thought, I CAN DO THIS! I started to experiment with fondant… this led to making my own elephant boxes, cake toppers, elephant cookies….I couldn’t stop it was so much fun! These memories are extra special to me because I did it for HER! (bonus that DIY option is cheaper too!) This what Hazel’s 1st birthday party looked like..
Super proud to have made my first fondant cake! (everything but the elephant…)
Baby naartjie had the perfect outfit for little miss muffet.
Woolies had awesome little sweeties to go with our colour scheme…
Ellie box on the right, was cut out by my Silhouette machine, folded and pasted myself.
Croche Ellie by In Stitches #specialorder Love it because now Hazel can always have a memoir for her first birthday party.
Baked and fondant these with an ellie cookie cutter.
With the help of ouma, we had freshly baked carrot cupcakes. Cupcake toppers compliments pinterest and #mom
